...was a really good time!
On the boat for the 7 Islands Tour

I chose Krabi over Phuket this time around because I wanted a different experience, and I got it.

Krabi is much more laid back than Phuket, but you can certainly find fun on the Ao Nang strip if you desire.

I visited several, several of the outer islands and I'm glad I did! On my last trip, I only did Phi Phi and Maya Bay.

This time, out of the nine or so that I visited, Railay Beach and Hong Island stood out as favorites.

Railay at dusk, it was my favorite stop!
I ALMOST had this shot to myself ;)

Railay is a great alternative to James Bond Island
They both have similar rock formations in the middle of the water

An um...a shrine :) at the Railay Beach caves at dusk. Not to be missed!

Posing at Hong Island, the only hot and sunny day on my trip

Hong Island, a trip highlight!

All of the beaches are crowded, especially since it was holiday season, but these two were large enough for everyone to have their own space. The views at the southern Thai islands are majestic!

I also visited the infamous James Bond Island. It's much, much smaller than I anticipated and was a bit of an anticlimactic experience, but it was an experience nonetheless.

James Bond Island.
I got several, unobstructed pics despite the crowds.

I booked my island tours through Viator. The mixed reviews gave me some pause but I made a decision and had no issues. The lunches were also really, really good!

Whether you choose Phuket, Ko Samui (my next Thai excursion) or Krabi for your southern island jump off, the southern region of Thailand is not to be missed! There are dozens of islands to choose to explore depending on your interests and perhaps your luxe level. The sights and scenes are unparalleled!
