School Year In Review

Thursday, May 31, 2018

Well, it seems that one school year has come and gone as quickly as I can ever remember in my career. It was a whirlwind, in a good way. It took me a minute to get into my groove, but once I did, things progressed almost seamlessly. Sure there were hills to climb but this is the happiest I've been with the conclusion of a year in a long time. All of my kids graduated and I'm looking forward to seeing the next group through. I actually got a little misty eyed during the ceremony, something I've never done in 11 years.

My kiddos showed me a little love at their dinner finale

What I learned this year:

  • ((cliche coming!)) PATIENCE is truly a virtue.
  • Kids are really the same everywhere
  • You can't please everyone, reaffirmed
  • It's okay to ask for help ((still getting better at this one))
  • It's okay to be completely who you are, even if others don't understand
  • Planned, regular self-care, even if I feel okay
  • School germs vary by building and aren't universal; also, there is no immunity no matter how many years you've already put in 😩
  • Always reinvent, because complacency sucks
  • I am fully capable of fasting
  • Keep learning
  • Perseverance is the new mantra
  • What I do really does make a difference in the end
Year 11 down, and it really flew by! Next year's calendar is looking goodT, and I'm excited to get to it, but first, rest: 2.5 months of it to be exact (YASSSSSSS to bomb calendars!)

I'm getting ready to depart for what I hope to be an epic, month-long journey through Europe before I head home to the states. Check out my Instagram to see what else I've been up to while in Qatar.
